Hello from the English countryside!

Hello from Lewes & London from the Burnout Queens!

Hello from Brighton & London!

Well, it’s been a month! The month we moved from London to Brighton. We wish we could say that it’s all been sun and fun but it’s been anything but. Change can definitely be chaotic. You know us, we believe that change is good, but chaos…well it’s just chaos! We are talking one solid month of builders in the flat almost every day making it impossible to settle in let alone unpack and get back to work! The pups thought it was great to have 5 new playmates every day!

We have put into practice every stress trick in the book, all the ones we share with you. Guess it worked since everyone involved has been amazed at how calm and reasonable we have continued to be. It is true, we have not yet thrown anyone off the terrace!

St-Anne-Wells-Gardens-park300Disappointingly there hasn’t been much time to get out and explore like we were looking forward to, but here are a few pics of our new neighbourhood.

The pups love their new park and they love sniffing around in the garden at the Buddhist meditation centre right at the top of our street, we are talking chilled pups…Ommmmm.

You know us, from a moment of reflection to a moment of indulgence just down the street! Oh be still my heart.

The neighbourhood is quirky, elegant, interesting and full of lovely cafes and shops. Here is one of the beautiful squares just a 5 minute walk away. The architecture here is beautiful.

And the sea…well the views still takes us aback! We delightfully have sea views from every room in the flat. Now who could ask for more! We reinstated our Sunday morning ritual of breakfast out and headed towards the sea to experience the “brisk” winds and waves crashing. We had a few chuckles as the wind almost took us off our feet! We stopped all of a few seconds to snap this before a quick (helped by the tail wind!) retreat indoors! It doesn’t do it justice so we will have to practice our sea shots!

Back at the flat, we needed some art…pop art! We had to improvise. Who knows, next stop Serpentine Gallery!

So, finally after a crazy month both boxes and builders are gone and we can breathe again. We can’t wait to share with you all that can be discovered when you grab life by the crown!

Hello from London… February 7, 2015

Hello from London!

This was one of those months that challenged every meaning of ‘balance’! Forget it. We jumped feet first into 2015 deciding to move from London to Brighton on the coast. We guess you can move the ‘girls’ away from the ocean but can’t…well you know how that saying is supposed to go! What can we say, we missed the water.

So, we had to move fast and a few train rides back and forth from London to Brighton, which takes less than an hour, brilliant, and we have found the most gorgeous place with….wait for it, fantastic views of the English Channel! Here, we’ll share one…

Like I was saying about ‘balance’, there really is none! Not that we believe in that old myth. We are simply trying to maintain equilibrium as we write voluminous lists about everything that needs doing and get down to doing it! Packing has begun.

We can’t wait to share Brighton with you, this is one cool little city! What a vibe it has, from the quirky to the elegant. Can’t wait, picnics on the beach!

In between rushing through train stations we have been designing and writing some fabulous stuff for all of you which we will unroll over the year.

If we go missing…look under the bubble wrap! Yikes!

Hello from London… January 10, 2015

Hello from London!

Welcome to 2015! It’s a much anticipated year here with lots to look forward to.

As expected December was a whirlwind culminating with a fabulous visit with niece, nephew, great nieces and great nephew. Whew, that’s a mouthful! We walked, we ate, we shopped, we did tea…we walked some more. I can’t believe how much they packed into 2 weeks. The thing about London is that around every corner something is waiting to be discovered. A good time was had by all.

Christmas dinner at the pub was full of character (including the big black lab at the next table drooling over our plates!) and delicious, absolutely delicious, from the champagne to the rich dessert we groaned over but of course ate every bite!

Here is a ‘flavour’ of London at Christmas for all of you: beautiful, inspiring, and as always quirky!

Hello from London… December 6

Hello from London!

Seriously, what happened to this year?!!! December is upon us once again, although you would never know it from the mild weather we have been having. Luckily morning walks in the park are still sunny and dry. That’s important when you have short dogs!

It’s going to be a very different December for us, that’s for sure! Our niece and her fabulous family are visiting from Canada. They will be in London for Christmas and New Year’s and we are going to do the town. Christmas lunch is booked at a 18th century pub just up the road.

We are looking forward to being able to stop, breathe and have some fun since we’ve been so busy over the Autumn with Masterclasses and designing programmes that will be rolled out in 2015.

Of course we did stop to hop across the road (literally across the road, we aren’t kidding !) to see the Christmas fair and the lighting of the Village lights. It’s not everyday you get to see a camel in the middle of the Square! And the 3 Wise Men were there to complete the set! That would be the Village vet, a real estate agent and a shopkeeper…the neighbours…need we say more!
