The Burnout Queens love luxury

f&m teaIf it’s one thing both Dr Toby and Dr Bev can agree on (amongst so many others) is we both love luxury.

Define luxury in any way you wish, but for these tea lovers, we love nothing better than the luxury of loose tea from Fortnum and Mason.  It’s how we cultivate our lifestyle.

When our headquarters and home moved from London to Brighton we wanted to make sure Fortnum & Mason delivered locally.  We were not disappointed and today the order went in for 3 different black teas in their beautiful F&M blue tea tins (one for breakfast, one for afternoon tea and one more for after dinner).  Bliss!

I will still visit the store whenever in London (it’s only a 50 minute train hop) because I adore  the beautiful interior and all the products displayed.  Like the teas, a visit is another luxury to my senses.  But for today, luxury is being delivered seaside!

Soulful Burnout

head in handsSpeaking with my VIP client this weekend it was clear he was having a crisis of soul.  We were talking about spiritual burnout.

He feels disheartened by how people treat one another these days and the current news reports make him wonder, “what is happening to the human race?”

Ugliness in our bigger world is impossible to control.  It affects us deeply (even more so for those HSPs among us), and like my client we are left upset, unsure and worried about our health, safety and futures.  What and how can we possibly make a difference.?!

During the course of our call my client realised he could control something…his own world.  He realised that what he said and how he behaved towards other people during his day, would lift his spirits and leave him feeling he can make a small difference.  Perfect timing.  After our call he’s off  on his weekly errands with a purposely kinder word to the bank teller, grocer, and waitress at lunch.   (I could feel the smile on his face through the phone).  Powerful!

Sounds a reasonable, achievable plan doesn’t it?  Kindness is not a new concept, but we often forget about it when we’re exhausted, disheartened and feeling disillusioned in our own life.

So darlings, why don’t we all  join my client and increase the goodness factor in this crazy world of ours.

  • say thank you as you leave a store, restaurant, bus
  • share compassion
  • share love
  • share beauty
  • smile a little wider

Off to feed my soul.  Cheerio from The Burnout Queens xx

Ps:  Come on, share your goodness factor in the space below, you might inspire someone.
