Hello from London… January 10, 2015

Hello from London!

Welcome to 2015! It’s a much anticipated year here with lots to look forward to.

As expected December was a whirlwind culminating with a fabulous visit with niece, nephew, great nieces and great nephew. Whew, that’s a mouthful! We walked, we ate, we shopped, we did tea…we walked some more. I can’t believe how much they packed into 2 weeks. The thing about London is that around every corner something is waiting to be discovered. A good time was had by all.

Christmas dinner at the pub was full of character (including the big black lab at the next table drooling over our plates!) and delicious, absolutely delicious, from the champagne to the rich dessert we groaned over but of course ate every bite!

Here is a ‘flavour’ of London at Christmas for all of you: beautiful, inspiring, and as always quirky!

Looking back means looking forward

Looking back over 2014, we are asking ourselves what we Learned about ourselves, rather than what we did.  Good, bad or otherwise, when you highlight how you changed within yourself, you can truly capture that strength and boost your confidence in significant ways.

For me there are 3 significant shifts that in 2015 will open my world to a new vista:

.

  1. I have rekindled estranged family relationships.  I put to bed some old family ghosts and opened up opportunities to know my sibling in a whole new way.  It’s good.
  2. I have divorced unkind ‘friends’, because the stress it causes is not worth the friendship, nor my health. In the past I would have exhausted myself trying to keep the friendship alive, only to be accused of being bossy and ‘too’ something.  No more.
  3. I have made a decision that will change my lifestyle.  Moving out of London to another city is not my first choice, but the reality of how expensive it is and the changing neighbourhood tells us it’s time, and might offer new adventures.

So dear lady, we are asking YOU to reflect in the same way.  Look inward…

What have you learned about yourself over the last year?  And as importantly, how will it change your horizons for 2015?

Let’s start a stream of comments here….

With love, The Burnout Queens xx
