On the other side of Burnout

We want you to think and dream about the other side of burnout.  Even though we talk about how Bliss can be yours after burnout, let’s be clear…Bliss doesn’t mean…

  • sitting on a beach with a fancy drink
  • a remote island where you meditate all day long
  • that enlightenment is just around the corner

And it certainly doesn’t mean that life can’t catch up with you and bite you in the… well you know!

Life is never a straight line, it’s more of a spiral path.  There will always be ups and downs, new surprises and discoveries, and, of course decisions and problems to solve.

But with each step you take, each level you transcend you will have discovered how strong you are and how resilient you are.  Even more than that, you will know what’s right for you and what’s wrong.  You won’t be afraid to leave something behind in pursuit of something new.  One step at a time, and you own each and every amazing step.  You will believe in your path, YOUR path, down to your very gut.

On the other side of Burnout you will live life your way because, believe it or not, Burnout leads you closer to the real, true YOU.

Embrace Life!

Day 12:  By Now We Could All Use An Energy Boost!

Sometimes you need to spend more energy to get more energy.  Holiday time can make us sluggish…all those extra goodies and extra sleep-ins!!!  Try these simple energy boosters:

  • walk an extra block today
  • get off the elevator one floor early and hike the stairs
  • drink lots of water today
  • find a drop in yoga class
  • get up right now and dance!

Day 10:  Going Home For The Holidays Doesn’t Mean You Are 12!

Dreading that trip home?  It’s ok, you can admit it here.  What you need to do is plan some fun and pleasure before you head off home.  Now that’s just what these doctors order!

Plan early holiday time your way.  Enjoy food, drink and laughter with good friends.  Then head off to your family holiday traditions with those warm fuzzy memories safely in place.

And so you don’t regress back to12 again, take a photo of you and your friends enjoying your real, adult life.  It’s a good reality check when you’re being told to clear the table or get to bed early!

Day 9:  Dread That Office Party?

Remember even though they call it ‘a party’, it’s really work!  Sure it has different trappings, unless you have champagne and canapes in the workplace!

Keep your stress down by keeping your expectations in place (and your heels on and no lampshades on the head)!

Treat ‘the do’ like a meeting ~ a time to arrive ~ a time to leave ~ best behaviour in between!
